Why this exists

I keep notes to myself. Most of them stay private, and should.

A few are worth leaving somewhere other people can find them — not because they are finished, but because a thought put where someone else might read it has to be a bit more honest than one kept in a drawer.

So: everything I write goes into a private notebook by default. When I want one of them out here, I say so, and only that one moves. This is the first.
